Body-Based Healing
Somatic Breathwork: Healing Through the Body, Not Words Alone
Schedule Your Free 20-Min ConsultationSomatic Breathwork is a gentle, trauma-informed practice that supports healing through the body rather than through words alone. Trained through the Somatic Arts Academy, I guide clients in intentional breathing, somatic awareness, and intuitive movement to help access the deeper layers of experience - especially the places where stress, emotion, and old patterns live beneath conscious thought.
Regulating Your Nervous System in Real Time
Breathwork offers a way to regulate the nervous system in real time. With simple, accessible breath patterns, clients can soften anxiety, interrupt panic, reduce overwhelm, and shift out of “fight or flight.” As the body settles, clarity often emerges: emotions move, insights surface, and long-held tension begins to unwind. Many clients describe feeling more grounded, spacious, and connected to themselves after sessions.
Trauma Healing Without Retraumatization
Because breath reaches pre-verbal and somatic memory, it can support trauma healing without retraumatization. When facilitated safely and slowly, breathwork allows stored emotional material to release in a titrated, embodied way - often creating breakthroughs that talk therapy alone can’t access. Clients may experience improved sleep, reduced pain, increased vitality, and a greater sense of agency as they learn to work with their breath between sessions.
A Bridge Between Mind and Body
Somatic Breathwork naturally bridges mind-based and body-based therapeutic approaches. It deepens emotional regulation, enhances self-awareness, and supports healing for anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma-related symptoms. This modality can be offered in several ways, and is equally powerful in each:
- As a standalone wellness service
- Woven into psychotherapy
- In individual sessions
- In groups
- In retreat settings
